Elevate GABA Mentorship Program

The Elevate GABA Mentorship Program is designed to cultivate leadership, strengthen professional identity, and build meaningful connections across Georgia’s ABA community. The program pairs experienced professionals with emerging clinicians to support career development, skill-building, and long-term engagement within the field of behavior analysis.

 

Participants engage in structured monthly mentorship meetings that include whole-group discussions and smaller breakout conversations. Topics focus on professional growth, leadership development, ethical decision-making, career advancement, and navigating challenges within clinical and organizational settings. The program emphasizes accountability, goal-setting, and actionable next steps between meetings.

Application Process
Applications for mentors and mentees open once annually in early spring. The application cycle and deadlines are announced through GABA communications and posted on the website. After the application period closes, GABA DEI VPs select and match mentors and mentees based on professional interests, goals, and experience. Applicants are notified within approximately 30 days, and group mentorship meetings begin the following month.

 

Eligibility
Participation in the Elevate GABA mentorship program is open to all active GABA members (Professional, Affiliate, or Student). Mentees may include early career BCBAs, graduate students pursuing BCBA certification, or undergraduate or post-baccalaureate students enrolled in ABA courses.

Mentors must be Georgia Licensed Behavior Analysts and have a minimum of 5 years professional experience in the field of behavior analysis.

 

Mentors and mentees who are matched must commit to a one-year mentorship term. Participants meet once per month for a 90-minute virtual group session. Participants will also complete quarterly feedback surveys to help evaluate and improve the program.

GABA Gratitude for Mentors
Mentors who successfully complete all the requirements for Elevate GABA will receive one complimentary professional registration to the GABA Annual Conference (excluding pre-conference workshops) in recognition of their service to the program.  All gratis conference registrations must be approved by the GABA Board.
