Kiel Scates, M.Ed., BCBA grew up in Kennesaw, Georgia. She currently lives in Atlanta with her husband, Ryan, and their sons, Andy and Charlie. Kiel works for the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA) as the Director of Member Services. Over the past two years, Kiel served as the Co-Vice President of Communication and Marketing for GABA. She Is also a member of the GABA Licensure Committee and she currently leads the Licensure Fundraising Sub-committee.

 

Kiel received bachelor's and master's degrees in special education from the University of Georgia. She taught self-contained special education in Athens, Georgia before moving to Atlanta. After moving to Atlanta, Kiel went to work as a therapist for Integrated Behavioral Solutions, Inc. while pursuing her BACB certification. In her 5+ years there, Kiel moved up the ranks to Senior Behavior Technician, Case Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and RBT Trainer. As an ABA practitioner, she has worked with a variety of clients ages 2 years to adulthood in homes, schools, clinics, and community settings. Kiel is passionate about building connections within our field and the importance of quality services for all.
