Miguel Ampuero, PhD, BCBA-D

Miguel Ampuero, PhD, BCBA-D, is an assistant professor of psychology and applied behavior analysis at Berry College. He teaches courses in applied behavior analysis, psychology and special education. Dr. Ampuero received his Ph.D. in special education with a focus on applied behavior analysis and autism, under the supervision of Dr. Rachel Robertson, from the University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on the training of special education paraeducators in the implementation of behavioral and/or evidence based instructional practices, the evaluation of effectiveness and efficiency of behaviorally based staff training approaches, as well as communication and language training for students with autism and/or other intellectual disabilities. Dr. Ampuero is committed to the education and professional development of students, successfully mentoring students through research and other student scholar activities as well as practical experiences. In addition, Dr. Ampuero holds a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral level designation and has more than 20 years of field experience working with individuals with autism and/or other intellectual disabilities in clinical and educational settings.
