Maggie Molony, Ph.D., BCBA-D, is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. While obtaining her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bellarmine University (located in Louisville, Kentucky), she began working as a direct support professional at a psychiatric hospital. Maggie worked on all units, ranging from mental health, to substance abuse, to individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (IDD). It was there that she began her journey in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), primarily with individuals with severe problem behavior. After working in-homes providing ABA therapy to those in need for a few years, she moved to Carbondale, Illinois to earn her master’s degree in ABA. There she gained experience working with parents involved in the Department of Child and Family Services; a position that changed her career trajectory. She then began to focus on working alongside caregivers of individuals of all ages with behavioral concerns (with and without disabilities) to increase her impact of providing empirically supported positive behavior interventions. While earning her doctorate in special education, she created and ran a program specific to caregivers in a behavior clinic. She has experience working with parents, family members, direct support personnel (specific to working with children and adults with IDD), teachers, and school admin. She currently serves as the Director of ABA Autism Services at Advantage Behavioral Health Systems (ABHS). She has built from the ground up an in-home program that serves 10 Northeast Georgia counties, while also providing behavioral services with the adult IDD program at ABHS. Maggie is proud and humbled with the opportunity to work in the clinical field serving families in need. She has served on the GABA board 2020-2022 as the Co-VP of continuing education and has been an active member since 2015. She currently resides in Watkinsville, GA with her husband, sons, and their dog.
